Sew in hair extensions can last from six to eight weeks with proper care, sometimes longer but its not usually advised to keep them in longer than two and a half months.

How to care for sew in extensions?

When caring for your sew in extensions after they’ve been installed make sure to be delicate and cautious to reduce damage and shedding.

Brushing:

When brushing your hair you want to start at the bottom of your extensions and work your way up. This avoids damaging your hair and reduces shedding since your aren’t just diving into your hair and ripping it out when it tangles.

Oil:

A little bit of oil goes a long way on your hair extensions, simply massage a little bit of oil on the tips of your fingers and lightly comb through your hair with your fingers. You don’t want to add a lot of oil or product to your hair extensions to keep them from looking and filing weighed down.

Protection:

Make sure you use a silk or satin bonnet to protect your hair when sleep, you don’t want to use any type of rough materials that may cause split ends.
